So why am i feeling not as tired while drinking Sierra Mist that i just found out has no caffeine? There isn't a lot of carbonation cuz its like close to a year old but why? no it dont say that big a word.

kathyread5 replied: "sugar high?"

are u a vampire? replied: "Cranberry Sierra Mist is the best!"

HOLliSt3RRBRiTtx replied: "You're drinking year old Sierra Mist? Being hyper isn't your only problem... Also, Sierra Mist has loads of caffeine in it, as well as sugar. It's just called something else. Look on the back of the bottle where the ingredients are. A lot of big words right? That's the caffeine & sugar. I bet it says Aspartame somewhere on there too..."

eeeaaaaattttt replied: "old or new, just because it doesn't have the word caffine doesn't mean anything. it can give you a sugar high, it could be a special word for caffiene like aspertine. I bet you dont kow all those big words on the back huh."

How much caffeine can a pregnant woman have a day? One of my doctors told me 355mL and the other told me a 20oz. a 12oz can of pop is 355mL. No i dont drink caffeine. I drink sierra mist so i can burp lol but seriously i do. I was just wondering if anyone else heard something different. Thanks!!

Bun in Oven replied: "What your doctor told you is right. it can either be 355ml or 20oz. It just depends on what your drinking what you go by."

Precious replied: "I heard to not drink more than 3 cups a day. I usually limited my caffeine to one coffee or soda a day (although I did have both on rare occasions) and no more than 3-5 cups total a week. I had horrible migraines when pregnant and caffeine was the only thing that helped. My baby was/is great!"

missshawna_r replied: "My doctor told me i couldnt have more then 1 can of pop but i drank atleast 5 cans of pop and 2 coffees a day..."

Would Sierra Mist Free be bad for your health/teeth? It has no sugar or caffeine or anything so I figure it wouldn't be bad on my teeth/health like regular pops are, even though i rarely drink them anyways. Anyone know?

billyandgaby replied: "Ok for your teeth, but horrible for you. All that Artificial stuff is BAD for you BP"

Kevin B replied: "I'm sure it wouldn't be bad usually it's the sugar and caffeine that are what causing the problems with teeth."

Wolfy747 replied: "It still has carbolic and or phosphoric acid plus citric acid or whatever they use to flavour it, so yes, it still is not good to be swishing around like scope. -Wolfy"

nashvillekat replied: "proably so, but I drink thoes anyway!"

DJC replied: "Yes, it would. Sure it has no sugar or caffeine, but in order to find out if something is truly healthy, you must actually READ the ingredients on the back of the can/bottle. In order for it to be called a soda, it must have citric acid, carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup (which is chemically altered), and tons of preservatives. Just because the sugar and caffeine is stripped out does make it healthy. It is soda and no soda is healthy, period. And yes, it would be bad for your teeth because it probably has some sort of sugar substitute coupled with the citric acid. All of these reasons are why I stopped drinking soda altogether. You should, too."

how many no caffeine sodas are okay a day? caffeine free of course......is there like a limit to how many you should have? ive been on a fanta, caffeine free pepsi, sprite, sierra mist binge.

M Kerr L&D replied: "I would still limit to no more than 2 a day due to the sugar content."

tiffawiffany replied: "well i wouldnt suggest diet anything. but i usually drink no more than a few caffeine free drinks a day. otherwise stick to water."

J L replied: "It's not just the caffiene that you have to worry about, its the sugar content. b/c there is such a thing called gestational diabetes, so you really need to watch your sugar content, my doctor told me to try to avoid sodas and sugary drinks but if i had to have some try to keep around 8oz.. check the sugar content you willl see what he was talking about. Ive gotten used to the high water diet and now i dont even crave the sugar that much..good luck!!"

embeviet replied: "Drink water!!!!!"

Mrs. Fountain replied: "I think that water and all natural juices would be a much better choice than all of the carbonated drinks. Remember whatever you drink, the baby is getting it too."

JJH replied: "ALL soda Is BAD... YOU need to limit is anytime, especially when you are pregnant! I CANNOT believe how selfish all of you pregnant women are... I didn't eat or drink anything harmful with my 5 pregnancies... IT isn't a life time commitment, but raising a healthy baby was my goal... Do you realize that you all are eating and drinking for your unborn baby??? GROW up and show some responsibility."

needtobenaughty replied: "try laying off soda even if it's caffeine free. drink more water or 100% juice. it's alot better."

Prego with #1 replied: "I drink Sprite all day...it is about the only thing that makes me feel fine. I wouldnt drink that only though...try to drink more water than soda. Good job on not drinking caffeine!! Good luck!"

Katherine R replied: "I went to the doctor and she asked me how much water I was drinking and I told her none. That all I drank was soda and she told me to drink alot more water. So I have one soda a day sometimes not even that and maybe tea and the rest water!"

inkantra replied: "No scientific studies will tell you exactly how many sodas may be harmful to your unborn child, but here are a few things to think about. If the sodas are not sugar-free, then consuming so much sugar may place you at risk for gestational diabetes. If the sodas ARE sugar free, then there is an unknown risk associated with artificial sweeteners such that pregnant women should not go overboard. So, even though your soda has no caffeine, that doesn't mean its 100% safe to drink as much as you want. That said, no one has really put an exact number on the risks involved in consuming large amounts of sugar or sugar substitutes."

serenityw2004 replied: "not much, you don't want all that sugar even without caffiene."

JustMeTiff replied: "Nobody is going to tell you that any are ok.. I will tell you though in my pregnancies I have drink soda the whole time.. This pregnancy I can't drink the caffeine sodas, as they give me horrible heartburn... But all 4 of my previous pregnancies turned out perfectly fine with healthy babies... so I wouldn't worry if you have a few here and there... Congratulations and best wishes on your pregnancy!"

rshackelford81 replied: "when i was pregnant i didn't do the whole caffeine free thing and everything went ok with my pregnancy, delivery, and my kids. Unless otherwise ordered by your doctor i think you will be ok."

Why would did I stay up all night on caffeine free pop? I had Sierra Mist pop the other night for dinner. It is caffeine free right? Well I stayed up till 3 am. I could not sleep! I had that happen before too when I drank that. Is there anything in there that would of kept me up all night. Can sugar make you hyper even at 19.

Alison replied: "its still full of sugar. caffeine is more likely to keep you up, but sugar can do the exact same thing, provide you with an excess of energy. thats why little kids can get crazy after eating candy."

Why doesn't lemon lime soda have caffeine? Stupid question, I know, but I was just curious if there was a reason. I'd drink Sprite/Sierra Mist a lot more if they had caffeine, but since they don't, I don't get them too much. Any real reason for why they don't? Does caffeine mess with the taste or something?

Dustin K replied: "Caffeine is a bitter compound, so it wouldn't affect the flavor in a lemon lime soda. They leave it out because some people don't like caffeine in their drinks, and they want to corner the market."

My thoughts replied: "Actually, I think they DO have caffeine."

I know caffeine soda is bad but...? Hello! My hubby and I are trying to conceive and I do drink alot of soda/ caffeine. I know I should stop drinking it so I decided to just start now before I was pregnant and get in the habit. I was wondering if drinking Sierra Mist or even caffeine free cola was ok? Also anything else I shouldnt drink or eat? Besides alcohol lol I know that. Thanks!

~33 weeks with Baby # 3~ replied: "Caffeine free beverages are fine. I would recommend taking a prenatal vitamin that contains lots of folic acid and to lay off of the sodas. Good luck!"
